About Victoria Aveyard
Victoria Aveyard is an American author of young adult fantasy novels and a screenwriter. She was born and raised in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts, a town known for its challenging traffic rotary. Aveyard moved to Los Angeles to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts in screenwriting at the University of Southern California. She made her debut as a novelist in 2014 with Red Queen. The novel was the first debut book to open at No. 1 on The New York Times bestseller list for young adult novels. Universal Studios purchased the movie rights before its publication, and Gennifer Hutchison, who adapted screenplays for Breaking Bad, adapted the screenplay. Aveyard also writes the Red Queen series. She uses her career as an author and screenwriter as an excuse to read extensively and watch many movies.
