Maika Moulite

Maika Moulite is a YA novelist who brings her Haitian-American heritage to life on the page, writing in collaboration with her sister, Maritza. The eldest of four sisters and daughter of Haitian immigrants, Maika balances her creative work with an impressive academic and professional portfolio—she holds degrees in marketing and an MBA, and is currently pursuing a PhD in Communication, Culture and Media Studies at Howard University. When she's not crafting stories about strong female leads, she helps nonprofits and major organizations shape their digital narratives.

Maika and Maritza made their debut in 2019 with Dear Haiti, Love Alaine, a vibrant YA novel that follows Alaine Beauparlant as she travels to Haiti and uncovers her family's secrets, including a multigenerational curse. The book celebrates Haiti's history as the world's first black republic while exploring identity, family, and the complexities of heritage. With a knack for blending humor, heart, and cultural pride, Maika writes the kind of young adult fiction that resonates with readers looking for authentic voices and compelling heroines.
