About Glenn Meade

Glenn Meade is an Irish author who writes historical fiction and thriller novels. He made his debut as a published novelist in 1994 with Brandenburg, a story inspired by his travels to Germany to research missing Nazi gold. During that research, he met a former SS officer who shared a personal account of a wartime secret, which became the foundation for the novel. Meade's novels have been translated into twenty-six languages and have achieved both critical and commercial success.

Born into a working-class family in Dublin, Meade studied telecommunications engineering before moving to New Hampshire. His lifelong interest in aviation led him to work as a pilot training specialist. He also worked as a journalist for The Irish Times and The Independent. During his time in New Hampshire, Meade persistently pursued an interview with J.D. Salinger, an effort that ended with Salinger setting his dogs on him. He began writing in the late eighties, directing his own plays, but shifted his focus to thriller writing in the mid-nineties.

Meade is known for his meticulously researched stories, drawing on his extensive travel to locations like Russia, the Middle East, and Europe. His 2002 novel Resurrection Day, a realistic thriller about a potential Al Qaeda attack on the US capital, was completed shortly before the September 11th attacks. For this book, he spent months in Washington D.C., interviewing senior White House staff, former Secret Service agents, and FBI terrorist experts. One source, John O’Neill, who assisted Meade with research, was later killed in the September 11th attacks. While his US publisher hesitated to release Resurrection Day so soon after the attacks, it received considerable attention and acclaim in Europe.

Critics have compared Meade's work to that of Frederick Forsyth, John le Carre, and Tom Clancy, noting his blend of fact and fiction. His novel Snow Wolf won the Thriller of the Year award from the Japanese Writer's Guild. Despite occasional work on Hollywood scripts, Meade prefers to focus on his novels, emphasizing the importance of hard work, prayer, and imagination in his writing process.

Air crashes rarely come down to a single cause. Seconds to Disaster, first published in 2012, examines how airline tragedies unfold as a cascade of bad luck, poor decisions, flawed company policies, regulatory failure, and inadequate training. The book argues that these failures are not random. Behind many of them lies a pattern: the airline industry's pursuit of profit at the expense of safety, eroding standards and putting lives at risk. The investigation moves beyond explaining what happened to asking why regulators and airlines allow it to continue. Watchdog authorities tasked with protecting passengers sometimes collude with the industry they are meant to govern, and the consequences show up in the wreckage. The book draws on cases like Air France Flight 447 to trace how a series of small compromises can lead to catastrophe, then proposes solutions for preventing future disasters. The question at the center is whether passengers and crew are being asked to accept preventable risk so that airlines can protect their bottom line. Seconds to Disaster lays out the evidence and leaves readers to decide how much they are willing to trust an industry that may be playing dice with their lives.

A reporter murdered in Paraguay, a political activist shot dead in Berlin, and an international policeman in Strasbourg handed the name of a German woman — Brandenburg is a 1998 thriller about a conspiracy that connects killings across three continents. Joseph Volkmann, the policeman, knows the murders share a single purpose. He knows that Erica Kranz, whose journalist cousin stumbled onto the story before his death, holds a piece of the answer. What he does not yet know is how far back the roots of this plot reach, or how close the threat has come. Volkmann and Kranz follow the thread through terrorism and fanaticism, chasing a design that reaches sixty years into the past and promises to repeat the greatest crime against humanity. The ghosts of history are not dead. Someone has revived them, and the clock is running. The question is whether Volkmann and Kranz can see the true face of what is coming before it arrives.

A Nazi plot to assassinate Franklin Delano Roosevelt during World War II brings three former friends back into each other's lives. The Sands of Sakkara is a thriller set in wartime Egypt, where Rachel Stern, an archaeologist imprisoned by the Nazis, is pulled into a secret mission by Jack Halder, a man caught between two nations and driven by rage. Harry Weaver, an American agent, is the only one who can stop them — and he loved Rachel in 1939. The mission stretches from Berlin to the pyramids of Egypt, where a chase across the desert becomes a race against time. Halder and Stern are not simply assassins; their loved ones will die if they refuse. Weaver must hunt down the man who was his friend and the woman they both loved, knowing that stopping the plot means condemning people he once cared about. The question is whether any of them can escape the mission alive, and whether Weaver can bring himself to pull the trigger when the moment comes.

The Devil's Disciple is a thriller about an FBI agent whose life is destroyed by the killer she brought to justice — and who may have returned from the dead to finish what he started. Kate Moran was thirty when Constantine Gamal, a serial killer obsessed with black magic and ritualistic double murders, abducted and killed her fiancé and his twelve-year-old daughter the day before the wedding. She tracked Gamal down and saw him convicted. Two years later, minutes before his execution, he promised her he would return — not in hell, but in this life — and destroy her. Now the double killings have started again. Kate treats the case as a copycat at first, but the evidence begins to suggest the impossible: that Gamal somehow escaped his execution. The murders move closer to home, and Kate realizes something worse — he is not the only one determined to take revenge on her. The question is whether she can survive enemies on two fronts when one of them should already be dead.

    Description
The Romanov Conspiracy is a historical thriller that opens with a body in the permafrost and closes the distance between a forensic dig and a decades-old secret. Dr. Laura Pavlov, an American forensic archaeologist, is working on the outskirts of Ekaterinburg, Russia, where the Romanov royal family was executed in July 1918. In a disused mine shaft, she uncovers remains preserved in the frozen ground — remains that offer new clues to the fate of Princess Anastasia, whose death has never been confirmed. The discovery sends Pavlov to Ireland, where a hidden account of a covert mission from years past waits to rewrite what the world believes happened to the Romanovs. That account pulls her into the past, into a revolution soaked in blood and a conspiracy built on deceit. What began as an excavation becomes a search for the truth behind one of the twentieth century's most enduring mysteries. The novel moves between the present-day investigation and the brutal days of 1918, tracing a story of love and friendship caught in the machinery of war, and a reckoning between revenge and redemption. The question at its center is whether Anastasia's disappearance was murder or escape — and whether the answer has been buried all along.
